Beauty is an agreement. Every culture ties itself to a beauty loop. We point out what is beautiful to us and lean towards the tendency of adjusting ourselves to the closest form of it. In the process of receiving feebacks, we take certain measures and feed the "agreement".

Q: What is your ideal combination of physical(i.e. double eye lids, petite frame) beauty of women in Singapore?

i don't know if there really is an ideal physical beauty. If in the context of being Asian, then does having more asian features make you more beautiful? I just think that beauty has to be brought out by one's personality and character. That's true beauty.

Guest next door: I agree that beauty is an agreement, but only in the generic sense because every individual, even from the same culture, thinks differently of how "pretty"/"beautiful" a person is. Even things like personality or character or specific actions/reactions in certain situations of a person could cause your image of how pretty that person is. What's more, the other attractive qualities of the person also affect our judgement of how pretty/beautiful a person is, even if it's just a judgement of physical beauty.

I agree. Someone may be very beautiful in terms of physical features. She may have big eyes, double eyelids, sharp nose, petite frame etc etc. But a kind person shines through it all.

But do we not agree that women who possess a hint of western features(like sharper noses or has "the bridge" with the addition of fairer skin) tend to capture our attention more?

To ans ur question, i would think it's a hot body - toned and tight. Flabby just looks unhealthy, even on a skinny girl. I think curvy bodies are hot...As for facial features, i think generally stronger features will make a girl look better - large eyes, sharper nose, etc - and generally a face where features look balanced. And good skin - smooth and supple and fair. Face shape should be oval.

To me, charisma and one's personality will bring out one's beauty at its best, and these 2 are lasting.

However, if you would really like to talk about physical only, I will say for women in Singapore, personally I feel that the following stands out:

- slim(not skinny) and tall(170 and abv)
- healthy hair
- good complexion
- oval face
- well-groomed

well.. if we're just zooming in on physical beauty, I would think :
- Well defined eyes that sparkle
- sharp nose
- excellent complexion
- fair
- ladies who dress and carry themselves well
- a poise of class and elegance
Just to name a few beautiful women in Singapore ( well at least in my opinion)
Wendy Prince, Jamie Cucua, Lisa Ang, Fann Wong, Zoe Tay

hmmm...

- big eyes, double eyelash, sharp nose, symmetric dimple, rather-sharper-than-flat nose, proportionate lips, white n tidy teeth, eyebrow of the thicker kind (natural)
- straight and styled hair
- proportionate and buxomy body
- smooth skin (color doesn't matter)

in singapore, a certain fiona xie would fits the definition (petite); monica belucci (bigger body - too bad she isn't singaporean) lydia, u r not too bad urself, aint u? :)

i suppose, the word 'beauty' is associated with mature look, while 'pretty' could apply to the cutie pies, but just my opinion.

in addition, personality does make a big impact (at least to us guys when meeting face-to-face); enhancing adoration to an already gifted beauty. it wont affect so much though, those screen/advert beauty whom we never connect to in person - so what you see is what you feel

anyways in daily life, almost everyone's sixth sense would be trigger when a beauty pass by eh? some kinda aura that makes u turn ur head..

my 2 cents worth.. -bazzinterez-

Do not think that there is an ideal physical beauty. Everyone got their own "version" of beauty.
But the one you love, will set the benchmark for the ideal beauty of woman in you.

I've been stuck in the beauty loop, well I still am. But it comes naturally to all who live in this world. You see, I used to be porkly but after losing all the weight, I gravitated towards a world of better choices, as I'm able to dress in things I couldn't wear before.

I admit though, I'm a tad more superficial now. Which is what I dislike about myself, after going through two ends of the way I look. I didn't use to care so much about dressing up, maybe I did, but not as much as now. Now I'm exposed to more choices, I become reliant on the fact that I can wear these clothes, and that is the ultimate fault in me - choices. I think the beauty loop works this way too, as one is exposed to more choices, the greedier they get.

But I guess I'm deviating from your original question of what is my ideal combination of physical beauty of the women in Singapore. Perhaps not, because I mentioned that size is one matter. I'd assume that I'm still not the preferred size of what Singaporean men would like; I probably could pummel them with my huge shoulders.

I think physical beauty as assessed by Singaporean men would be:
- A compact, petite frame
- Long hair
- Medium to big eyes
- Clear complexion
- Fair or tanned

Physical beauty as assessed by Singaporean females (excluding me):
- Double eyelids
- Big boobs
- Small waist
- Long eyelashes; often extended with false ones
- Petite, thin; e.g. no flabs
- Dollface; e.g. Dawn Yang, Fiona Xie
- Long hair, rebonded or with loose curls
- Big eyes; illusioned with thick eye-liner
